I set up a live set with ‘wavetable’ and then midi-mapped elements for live modulation. These elements were; frequency, wave shape, release, and tone. With the recordings of this experiment, I then used Ableton Simpler sampler to play the sample as midi notes. This was good but it wasn’t quite what I was looking for. I then added the ‘echo street’ audio effect and glue compressor and now feel very happy with the sound. I think I will use this for the beginning of my piece, it sets the mood. Some parts of this are still peaking a bit, I think I need to understand the compressor better as this should help.
