Bilateral frequancies and stimulation

Concept/ ideas – Sound healing, Solfeggio frequencies, sound baths

I’ve been interested in solfeggio frequencies and sound healing recently. I think this could make for an interesting audio paper topic. Every time I read about frequencies, I find myself switching between the text and YouTube trying to hear each frequency mentioned. Wouldn’t it be better to hear the frequencies being discussed alongside the information?

I’ve also been researching bilateral stimulation as a form of sonic healing, I’m experimenting with a combination of these ideas.

Definitions

Solfeggio frequencies – ancient frequencies thought to have a positive effect on the mind and body

Bilateral stimulation  – by stimulating each side of your body with two things happening at the same time anxiety can be reduced – bilateral stimulation through frequency and sound.

Experimenting:

In Ableton – 2x operator. one frequency left one right. 174Hz left 852Hz right. Resample of both operators with volume modulation – sounds more cohesive maybe more relaxing?

I recorded the definition of bilateral stimulation and copied it to two channels, sending one left and one right. I cut the recording and played with the placement of the clips. The definition and aesthetic presentation of it go together very well I think. I feel inspired by the abstract ways in which you can present information in an audio paper, the potential to make something informative yet aesthetic is inspiring new ideas on what direction to take the audio paper.

Upon listening back, should the difference between left and right be more obvious or is the subtlety good for my desired effect of a meditative audio paper?

*Idea to try – recording with binaural microphones with the same text.
